The entire Amazon trip exceeded my expectations in every way. The boat, crew, food, accommodations, excursions were all fantastic! The guides made everything interesting, but I loved the night excursions and stories about local legends best of all. It was an amazing trip. Heather from North Carolina
One of the world's wonders, the Amazon has fascinated travelers and dreamers since its discovery in 1542 by Francisco de Orellana. The 3,900 miles long Amazon River and its tributaries is the last great wilderness of its kind. It contains over half the world's species of birds and thousands of species of mammals and plants. It is pupulated by the river people and tribes of Indians who crisscross this vast system of rivers, streams and canals in their wooden boats and canoes.
With the Amazon Expedition Cruise you will embark on the voyage of a lifetime, sailing the Earth's mightiest river, which calls on the most adventurous of world travelers. You'll be rewarded with an unforgettable journey into areas penetrated by only a privileged few. As the expedition ship docks along the river shore, experienced naturalists will take you into remote estuaries in the Amazon rainforest. At the day's end, you will enjoy the comforts of your floating hotel, wholesome meals prepared with fresh ingredients and naturalists' talks on flora and fauna of the Amazon.
