LISBON AND THE SILVER COAST

TOUR OVERVIEW

I thought that the way you organized the tour was wonderful, and I never expected to get such a large view both historically and from another perspective - I feel like I have seen so much, even though when I first saw your itinerary, I thought it sounded wonderful!

Frances from New York

The journey to Portugal offers magical landscapes of sandy beaches rimmed by burnished-gold cliffs, fantastic Manueline architecture, fairytale walled towns, hilltop windmills and Moorish castles. The dramatic history of the Knights Templar and of the Portuguese discoveries is softened by the coral-colored hibiscus flowers and purple wisteria wrapping around centuries old stone walls, elegantly painted ceramic tiles and soulful fado music.

Portugal is a blissfully undiscovered destination with glorious beaches, bewitching grandeur of baroque palaces, superb cuisine, amazing wines and warm locals, and this tour will allow you to create lifetime memories and friendships with like-minded women travelers.

  • You will spend the first 5 days in the Lisbon's seaside resort of Cascais; and the next 4 days in the ancient walled medieval town of Obidos, before returning to Lisbon for an additional day of exploring the city.
  • While in Cascais, you will explore the medieval Belem with the Belem Tower and the Monastery of Jeronimos, romantic palaces and gardens of Sintra, exclusive beaches of Estoril and the gilded rococo palace in Queluz. You will take a ceramic tile painting class, tour a muscatel winery and attend a fado music concert.
  • While in Obidos, you will take explore the marvels of Manueline architecture in Batalha, tour the Knights Templar stronghold in Tomar, experience the spiritual power at the pilgrimage site of Fatima, and relax along the dramatic beaches of Nazare.
  • Throughout the tour, you will dine a la carte in carefully selected fine restaurants, getting to know Portuguese cuisine, especially its seafood and its terrific wines.
