Testimonials

Morocco was magical and my favorite country visited to date. This is my second tour with Sights and Soul, and it was another amazing experience! The tour leader, the wonderful women travelers, and lastly Morocco itself being so diverse created an amazing experience with wonderful memories and friendships for a lifetime! Everything was wonderful about this trip! Being in the Sahara Desert and breaking the Ramadan fast with a family in Fes was pretty special. - Yvonne from Arizona (Morocco 2024)

Morocco has been on my go to list for many years and Sights and Soul made it happen.  From the Atlantic to the edge of the Sahara, the landscape is diverse and gorgeous.  The food was amazing and the group of women was outstanding.  Thank you to Anne for her fabulous leadership and our sweet Moroccan guide Abdell for making this another trip of a lifetime! - Stephanie from Vancouver

Having lunch at our guides family home and going to chef Michaels home gave a personal insight into Morocco. The tour was extremely organized without being regimented. The combination of day tours, shopping, learning and dining were an excellent balance. Loved Rick’s Café. The historical sites were a wonderful in depth learning experience about Morocco. Thank you! – Phyllis from Florida

I loved it all – the culture, history and camel ride. It was overall more than I anticipated. It was a fabulous tour with the right blend of history, culture and sights. The local guides were a great addition to enhance the tour. – Linda from Pennsylvania

The following were wonderful: camel ride in Sahara Desert, lunch with the local family, lunch at Scorpion house, and experiencing medina life at Fez. Riad Fez was a stunning and wonderful hotel. – Connie from New York

The Sahara  Desert Berber Tent experience was top of the list!  The desert trip was magical, to be remembered by all ! – Pamela from California

Loved the Sahara, the camel experience, and the unbelievable scenery on the drive over the Atlas Mountains! - Lynne from Washington

I really enjoyed all 3 tours: wonderful guides, great food, everyone got along well, a memorable experience. So glad I did these 3 (Morocco, Spain, Portugal) in a row. In many cases, history just flowed and connected from one to the other. Marta, Kerry and Angela were all great tour leaders, each with a different personality and style of leading, but all equal in greatly enhancing their trip. - Andrea from Nevada

It was one of those “Pinch me, I can’t believe I’m here” moments. - Lou from Florida

I loved the cooking class and of course the camel ride into the sunset. But I simply loved the whole experience. Kind of magical. Thank you so much for another tour that was beyond my wildest dreams. - Renee from New York

Morocco was fantastic. We hit all the “must see” places & I loved every minute. I loved Fes! And Marta really cares about each person’s comfort and happiness and it shows! - Victoria from New Jersey

The trip to Morocco was just as wonderful as I expected it to be. The itinerary, the hotels, the group, and our wonderful guide, Renata, provided an experience I doubt anyone will forget.  My sincere thanks to you, S&S, and Renata for providing the trip of a lifetime to fourteen very lucky ladies.  Mohammed, also, was an excellent guide. -
Martha from Caifornia

Itinerary – great, accommodations and meals – great, other travelers – fun. Absolutely incredible trip to an exotic and intriguing country. - Deb from Pennsylvania

As always, traveling with Sights and Soul is a wonderful, almost hassle-free way of experiencing new destination, as well as meeting new friends. - Denise from Indiana

I did have a great time. (I'm not just saying that...really) Thank you for providing an experience that showed us the contrasts of Moroccan life - the cities, the mountains, villages, the great Sahara and the valley. - Paula from Connecticut

Tour Director: Ingibjörg Jónasdóttir

The exotic beauty of Morocco is veiled in legend and romance. Edith Wharton captured its magic when she described it as a "land of mists and mysteries, trailing silver veils through which domes and minarets, mighty towers and ramparts of flushed stone, hot palm groves and Atlas snows, appear and disappear at the will of the Atlantic cloud-drifts."

With the Deserts and Oases Tour, we'll embark on an exotic and luxurious journey, explore the world of Morocco's ancient cultural traditions and experience some of the most beautiful and dramatic scenery in the world: from the sun-kissed Atlantic beaches to the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas Mountains, from classical Roman ruins to quaint Alpine villages, from colorful souks to sophisticated boutiques, and from cinnamon-colored sand dunes of the Sahara to the rustling palm trees in the tranquil, lush oases. We'll enjoy private luxury riads, the magic of ancient kasbahs and a dreamy night at a luxury Berber camp, under the countless stars of the Sahara. We'll camel caravan in the desert, walk through the Todra Gorge, take a private cooking class, and explore the labyrinths of perfectly-preserved medieval cities.

We'll spend 1 day in Casablanca, 5 days in the Imperial City of Fez, 2 days in the Sahara Desert, then 1 day in the Dades Valley, before concluding with 3 days in Marrakech.

  • While in Casablanca, we'll tour the sophisticated Art Deco city on the shores of the Atlantic, visit Hassan II Mosque, second only in size to the Mecca and we'll have dinner at Rick's Cafe of the "Casablanca" movie fame.
  • In Rabat, we'll tour Palais Royal, the Hassan Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum.
  • We'll marvel at the impressive mosaics throughout the well-preserved Roman ruins in Volubilis.
  • We'll take a private tour of Morocco's spiritual capital of Fez, as we explore the Royal Palace, the city's medieval labyrinth of streets, and the crumbling grandeur of the historic medina.
  • We'll enjoy a private cooking class in Fez.
  • We'll admire the towering Mid Atlas as well as the snow covered High Atlas Mountains.
  • We'll spend a night in a luxury Berber camp, under the starry skies of the Sahara Desert.
  • We'll walk through the dramatic Todra Gorge.
  • We'll get entranced by the magic of Marrakech, as we tour the intricately decorated madrasas, the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Gardens and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Jemaa El Fna Square.

Throughout the tour, we'll stay in upscale accommodations, both luxury riads and ancient kasbahs, dine in excellent restaurants and benefit from the knowledge and passion of our private Moroccan specialist guides, who will accompany us throughout the tour.

A Soulful Women's Trip to Morocco
Traveling With The Ladies, No Men Allowed!

Ever since I caught the travel bug, Africa has been on my top destinations list. Although I have yet to visit any parts of the world’s second largest continent, many other women have traveled throughout the region with life-changing experiences. Morocco, in particular, offers a range of sights, smells, and taste within its vivid seaside cities and mountainous Sahara Desert. Rich in Arabic culture and history with beautiful mosques and people, there is no reason not to tour this country. Since 2004, Sightsandsoul.com has been offering luxury tours and vacations for women with destinations primarily in Europe, but also in South and North America and Africa. Yolanta Barnes, owner of Sights and Soul Travels, composes women-centered tours which embrace adventure and culture for those individuals seeking peer travel. more
