TESTIMONIALS

I loved our Bali tour! I am always interested to learn about different cultures and lifestyles. I have found that S&S adds elegant details, like spa days and luxury hotel rooms, that make the trip into a grand adventure! - Ruth from New York (Bali 2024)

The Bali trip is a wonderful experience. The island is beautiful and the people are incredible-so very friendly and gracious. The itinerary is jam packed with temples, museums, dance performances, snorkeling, and more. Even had an added bonus of an earthquake! - Sydney from Alabama

Tour Director: Kerry Schroeder-Swecker

From the jungle-clad mountains to the white and black sand beaches, Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise wrapped in ancient mystique and fantastical beliefs. Below the volcanic peaks from which the island once sprang, rice terraces texture emerald slopes, the aroma of fresh coconut fills the air, and the intricate temples stand silhouetted against perfect sunsets. Ancient springs feed the spiritual pools, lush jungles shelter stone temples filled with mischievous monkeys, waves crash against dramatic cliffs and onto perfect sandy beaches, and plantations grow cinnamon, cloves and heavenly coffee.

They say that every day is a holiday in Bali and it's not an exaggeration; there are processions, ceremonial dances, and village festivities happening every day, and visitors are welcome to these colorful celebrations. At the same time, Bali is also an island of artists. The locally produced wood and stone carvings, masks, puppets, paintings, batiks, silver and gold jewelry, basketware, ceremonial daggers and pottery are used to decorate houses and temples and are incredibly detailed, distinctively Balinese and of very high quality. The performing arts: dance, drama and music are haunting, inspiring and otherworldly, and they stay with you long after you leave the island. Then, the sacred healing arts add another dimension to Bali. Inspired by the ancient Tri Kaya Parisudha philosophy, they encourage aligning the heartfelt goodwill with consistent actions, and the resulting spiritual growth promotes a deeper connection with the inner self and empowers new ways to balance the external life choices.

Bali has intense natural beauty which is hard to overstate. The highlights of the Enchanted Bali tour include the spectacular architecture of ancient temples and palaces, coral reefs and secluded beaches, rice terraces and coffee plantations, waterfalls cascading down mountainsides and primeval jungles, dance performances, batik and Balinese dance workshops, a yoga, meditation and spa session, and a Balinese art appreciation experience. We'll start in the New Age, cultural capital of Bali, Ubud, where we'll stay at a resort overlooking a coconut grove and a Balinese jungle, and we'll not only tour the major highlights of central Bali, but also find time for leisurely appreciation of Balinese culture: its visual arts, its dances and music, as well as indulge in the Balinese healing arts. The second part of our stay in Bali will be spent at the secluded beachside resort in Nusa Dua, exploring dramatic temples, cultural landmarks as well as journeying to a hidden gem of the Nusa Penida island for world-class snorkeling and beach hopping. We'll dine at carefully selected, upscale restaurants, representative of Balinese and Indonesian cuisine and providing an introduction to the island's culinary arts.
